Poetry 2.0
It's official. The switch has been made. Blogger shall no longer plague me with it's limited features, and other various downfalls. As you can see, there are many new things, and many things that still need to be fixed. I have decided that since I've got basically an entirely new site, the name has to change to. Poetry, Money, and More wasn't doing it for me. I guess I could always act like John Chow and turn it into Poetic Money dot Com, but that seems lame. Poetry 2.0 suits this place just fine don't you think?
Please, take the time to look around my blog, if you find anything that seems out of place or that doesn't work like it's supposed to, leave a comment on that post informing me of what's wrong. A majority of people can find the errors quicker than I can by myself.
For those of you who never commented on my other blog because you could never find the comment link, I apologize for that, but now, you have no excuse because it's plain as day to see, so you know what to do.
The switch didn't go nearly as smooth as I had hoped it would. First of all HostGator Support is wonderful. HostGator itself, is just a tiny bit out of date. I originally installed Wordpress via Fantastico, (which is Fantastic!) and got everything set up just the way I wanted to, but then I tried to import my posts! Then all hell broke loose. It took me about a half an hour of trying to make the import feature work until I realized that Fantastico (Not so fantastically) installed Wordpress 2.2. So I then had to gather up all of my 2.3.1 files and FTP them to my site. The kicker to that is, that while I was going through all of my plug-ins, and adding them to the 2.3.1 folder so that I didn't have to upload them separately, I noticed the Automatic Upgrader plug-in I had downloaded, and proceeded to simply upload all of my plug-ins instead of the newer version of Wordpress.
Apparently, Automatic Upgrader Plug-in + Wordpress 2.2 = Disaster. I then decided it best to simply start from the beginning and do what I had originally planned to do. I got Wordpress upgraded just fine after that. Aside from the fact that I had to make a new database, it went pretty smoothly from then on out.
It is now 4:44 AM EST, and I have class at 10AM. Unfortunately, I would love to stay up and write a few more posts, and perfect my blog even more, but I live an 1 1/2 hours away from the school, and I generally wake up at 7:30AM, so if I plan on getting any sleep whatsoever I have to go. I will be back and updating again tomorrow night. If you like the new design, don't be afraid to tell me so in my poll. Also, feel free to comment.
Oh, and tell everybody you know about it.
