How easy is it earning money online

I honestly believe that earning money online us a lot harder than you can begin to imagine.
I personally have taken 2 years to get a steady income online, I still have a full time job ( self employed ) but do earn online.
Most newbie webmasters think it’s just register a new domain put on a little content and you have cracked it.
well its not that simple.
